West Virginia Mine Cited in Miner’s Death

A West Virginia coal operator has been hit with 45 citations from the state, including individual assessments against five mine examiners, in connection with a miner’s death in March.

The enforcement action by the state Office of Miners’ Health, Safety and Training was taken against Kingston No. 2 underground mine near Mossy, Fayette County.  Section foreman Jeremy Sigler, 34, of Pool died in a wall collapse.  Kingston is a subsidiary of Alpha Natural Resources.
