A fire that broke out Tuesday at Idaho’s storied Sunshine Mine brings back painful memories of a deadly inferno underground 40 years ago, but this time no one has been injured.

MSHA spokeswoman Amy Louviere said today the Agency and the mine owner are monitoring the situation but that the fire continues to burn.  No one is inside the mine; however, the company is considering sending in rescue teams to determine the exact location and extent of the fire, she added.
